How to use the template
- List your keywords from research, Search Console queries and competitor analysis.
- Group by intent. Keywords that a single page can satisfy go together; keywords needing a different type of page (guide versus product versus comparison) do not.
- Assign one page per group. Check the live results to see what type of page ranks. If every result is a guide, a product page will struggle.
- Mark gaps. Keywords with no suitable page become content briefs.
- Mark conflicts. If two existing pages target the same keyword, merge, differentiate or redirect.
- Record volume, difficulty and position, then review quarterly.
- Track the mapped keywords in your rank tracker, grouped by page.

Using it with Bizsenti AutoSEO
Use keyword analysis to fill volume and difficulty, bulk import the keywords into the rank tracker and group them by page, then scan to fill current position. Competitor analysis helps find keywords competitors rank for that you have not mapped.
A worked example with ten keywords
A fictional dental clinic. Notice how related keywords share one page and different intents get different pages.
| Keyword | Intent | Assigned page |
|---|---|---|
| dentist leeds | Local transactional | Home or main service-area page |
| emergency dentist leeds | Local transactional | Emergency dental care page |
| teeth whitening cost | Commercial investigation | Teeth whitening page with prices |
| how long does teeth whitening last | Informational | Section and FAQ on the whitening page |
| invisalign vs braces | Commercial investigation | Comparison guide |
| dental implants leeds | Local transactional | Dental implants page |
| are dental implants painful | Informational | FAQ on the implants page |
| children's dentist leeds | Local transactional | Children's dentistry page |
| nhs dentist leeds | Navigational / local | A page explaining NHS and private options |
| wisdom tooth removal recovery | Informational | Guide linked from the surgery page |
Several keywords share a page when the intent matches, and a keyword with a different intent gets its own page.
A search intent cheat sheet
| Intent | Typical signals | Page type |
|---|---|---|
| Informational | how, what, why, guide, tips | Guide or article |
| Commercial investigation | best, vs, review, compare | Comparison or list |
| Transactional | buy, price, near me, book | Product, service or booking page |
| Navigational | brand names | Home or specific page |
Check the live results to see what kind of page ranks. If the results are all guides, a product page will struggle for that keyword.
Fixing keyword cannibalisation
If two of your pages compete for the same keyword, work through these options.
- 1
Confirm it is a real conflict
Search the keyword and note whether your two pages swap places or both rank poorly.
- 2
Check intent
If the pages serve different intents, differentiate their titles, headings and focus.
- 3
Choose a winner
Pick the stronger page by content quality, links and conversions.
- 4
Merge or redirect
Combine the best content into the winner and 301 redirect the other.
- 5
Update internal links
Point links to the winner, using descriptive anchors.
- 6
Monitor
Track the keyword to confirm the consolidated page improves.
Use the resource
Replace the example rows with your own keywords. Volume and difficulty come from your keyword research tool; position comes from your rank tracker.
| Primary keyword | Secondary keywords | Search intent | Target page URL | Page type | Location | Volume (monthly) | Difficulty | Current position | Status | Next action | |
